Rhapsody is a grassroots platform designed to empower independent hip-hop and RnB artists in Aotearoa. Built around the values of community, equality, and creative expression, the project combines event-based experiences (gigs, open mics, workshops) with a simple, user-friendly platform that connects artists to opportunities, collaborators, and audiences.
Developed using a human-centered design thinking process, Rhapsody responds to the challenges independent artists face in today’s digital-first music industry—such as limited exposure, financial constraints, and lack of access to supportive networks. The brand’s identity and ecosystem are designed to foster connection and authenticity, while its collaborative journalism and social-first campaigns give artists real visibility in their own communities.
From ideation to final mockups, Rhapsody stands as a passionate initiative to uplift emerging talent and reimagine what success can look like in New Zealand’s underground music scene.
